UNO Bistro is inspired by Ukrainian culture and the traditional coffee house designs and cuisine of Lviv. Our goal is to bring our vibrant community together by combining the unique Ukrainian culture with traditional Ukrainian food – all within a casual and comfortable atmosphere.

Your Favourite Ukrainian Dishes with a Modern Twist
Our Ukrainian dishes feature simple pastries, staple lunch options, and traditional Ukrainian recipes with a modern twist. We strive to support as many local Ukrainian artisans and businesses as we can – from our pastries to our beer. As a blend between a Ukrainian café and restaurant, we aim to provide as many familiar and loved Ukrainian dishes as possible, including varenyky (perogies), borsch and holubtsi (cabbage rolls).
our SPACE
Ukrainian history comes alive
in the Bistro’s space.
There are subtle pointers throughout the Bistro that point to the origins of the space as well as its heritage. The bistro is housed in the Ukrainian National Federation (UNF) building, in a room that once archived countless rare and nearly extinct literature from Ukrainian culture. Now converted into a Ukrainian café, the Bistro pays homage to the space’s history with simple but powerful book art displayed throughout the space.
Our cozy space also honours well-known local Ukrainian artists who have donated original wood carved pieces, now featured on our walls. Perhaps the most iconic Ukrainian symbol is the swords hung proudly on display – one signed by folk dancers travelling for a performance to Sydney Australia, the other an exact replica of the sword used during many of the battles to gain Ukraine’s independence.
our MISSION
UNO Bistro is owned and operated by the UNF. All proceeds from the Bistro go towards supporting community endeavours including Ukrainian projects outside the Canadian borders. Housed in UNF’s largest Canadian location, UNO Bistro is about bringing people together in a space filled with culture, tradition, and a unified community.
